Albatross was my debut album and was a milestone for me. As a theme I took the Albatross as they are seabirds capable of travelling 10,000 miles in a single journey, They can circumnavigate the globe in 46 days, managing to fly without expending almost any energy.

For this debut album the help of Mel Melcer, Mariia Arkhipova, Bert Heikema, Emiel Zwaard, Léon Schmitz, Elias Bastiaan, Martin Mens en Ivan Luzan was instrumental and without them the realisation of it would not have been possible.

Two tracks feature vocalist Mariia Arkhipova from Kyiv, Ukraine. The song Time was written by her and re-arranged by Emiel Zwaard and LTJ. On My Own was written together and was trying to reflect the early days of the CGCB club in NYC.

Albatross is a tribute to Wishbone Ash and the piece René is in the loving memory of my friend René who was a pilot and a musician and left this planet too soon.

The nuclear disaster Chernobyl is narrated in the track with the same title and the story is told by voice actor Martin Mens from the Netherlands.

My personal favourite of this album is the long prog track Epic. It is like a long and winding road. When I started on this track i had no idea where this would go but it did arrive lol...

Epic it was!
